*AUS* vs DC Match results -- Posted by ICECaNNoN on Sunday, February 23 2003
Tonight *AUS* took on DC in one of, if not the first intersquad match in Australia. Due to player numbers being down, it was decided to play 4v4.
In the first map, *AUS*'s team of WildCat, Ice Cannon, Spetz Naz & Paul played brilliantly, Paul & Spetz running 2 quick flags, with Ice and WC providing cover and defense. From then on, no more flags were scored, *AUS* took the first map 2 flags to nil.
Then in the second map, *AUS* stayed with an unchanged line up. We were quickly placed on the back foot by a quick flag from DC. We were unable to attack until the 8th minute when Spetz Naz ran a flag home. This brung it to one flag each. Wildcat was still defending like a champion, and Ice, Paul and Spetz all going for flags. With Spetz and WC staying back to hold them off, Ice & Paul both ran up and covered each other until Ice banked the flag home. We then defended with all we had, in a nervous 1 and a half minutes many flags were picked up, dropped and returned. *AUS* took the map 2 flags to one.
Well done to all that played, it was a great intense game. Thanks to DC for playing, even with some technical difficulties. *AUS* won the match 2 maps to nil, and Paul took the *AUS* Player of the Match award home.
Good Morning Vietcong -- Posted by Camouflage on Sunday, February 2 2003
Inline with the decision of future divisions only being established for new games, we bring you Vietcong to the *AUS* Network. ICE CaNNoN made the push for this title to be included and is the divisions first member. However we are looking for somebody to raise their hand and become the platoons commander.
Vietcong doesn't seem to have made much of a impact on existing *AUS* members, but never mind as it seems that many other gamers in the Australian and global community are jumping at it. This will ensure fresh blood amongst our ranks and existing members dedicate their time to the divisions they are already in.
The game play resembles Ghost Recon, which proved quite popular (and still is), so grab the demo if you haven't tried it yet.
I have been designing the site over the last week and with its automatic functions, it blows the other divisions sites out of the water, lol. There's still some tiding up to do, but there's nothing stopping events from getting underway.
Best of luck to this division and its future members.
